Minnie Mouse Cookies and Cookie Cutter Modification

Despite my large collection of cookie cutters, I sometimes don't have the exact right cutter needed.  For these Minnie Mouse cookies, I needed to modify my Mickey Mouse cutter to include a bow.  Using a cutter is always easier than hand-cutting a cookie, so I searched through my cookie cutters until I found this bunny.  Those ears were perfect for the job.

After cutting the mickey ears and then the bunny, I separated the dough and removed all the bunny parts except the ears.

The dough bakes together and any imperfections will be hidden by royal icing.

The first step of the icing process....

And here are the finished Minnie Mouse cookies.  So cute!!

Fire Truck Cookies (and Cookie Cutter Modification)

Until recently I did not have a fire truck cookie cutter, but I did have an order for fire truck cookies.  I put my thinking cap on and decided I would try to make a fire truck out of this regular truck.

I cut the truck...

Then I moved the cutter back and cut out another truck...

I moved the dough to the baking sheet and flipped the second front wheel up to the top of the truck, then I baked.  Pushing the dough tight together is all it takes for the dough to bake together.

I loved the end result!
