Christmas in September Market cookies

Once per year at the Farmers' Market we celebrate Christmas in September.  Here were the cookies I made this week.  Loved them!

I also made some oversized gingerbread men and two young men stopped by and scooped them up!

Edible Image Printer - Retired

Last night it became official - my edible image printer has been retired.  I had big dreams for it when I bought it a few years ago, but time after time I was unsatisfied with the results and the ink cartridges often dried out and clogged between jobs resulting in purchasing new and expensive replacements.  Yes, I read somewhere about someone who printed a page every week just to keep those cartridges from drying out and I didn't do that, but when a local business started offering edible image printing, I decided to change my edible image printer to our new regular printer (it offers a wireless connection that our old printer didn't) and so my edible image days are done.  Surprisingly, I am not at all sad!

#TBT Baby Announcement Cookies

I made this set last year for my niece's darling little baby girl, inspired by the embroidered birth announcements that were popular many years ago.

Starfish Cookies

The Starfish

One day a man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy hurriedly picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean.

Approaching the boy, he asked, "Young man, what are you doing?"

The boy replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.  The surf is up and the tide is going out.  If I don't throw them back, they'll die."

The man laughed to himself and said, "Don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?  You can't make a difference!"

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf.  Then, smiling at the man, he said,

"I made a difference to that one."

Trisha contacted me to create starfish cookies for the Literacy Council of York-Simcoe.  The organization is celebrating their 30th anniversary and the cookies were a gift to their students, volunteers and members to remind them they have been making a difference for 30 years!

Musical Cookies

Another season of beautiful music has started at Bradford's Piano Music Studio.  Last year each student got a Sweet Handmade Cookie to celebrate a new year and this year they were all hoping for the same.  Zuzana did not disappoint them!

First Day of School Cookies

Wishing all of you a great first day back at school!  These were the cookies I created for the Farmers' Market this weekend, all of them sold out by about noon.
